Kitchenware Care
All of our kitchenware is treated with all natural beeswax and mineral oil. This provides a finish that is food-safe, makes the item easier to clean, and looks polished.
When dirty, wipe down all kitchenware with a damp cloth and dry completely.
If an item is particularly dirty, you can use dish soap and water to clean it. This will likely require that you re-apply wax to the item (see below).
Do not let moisture accumulate on cutting boards and do not let items sit in pools of moisture. The items will absorb the moisture and warp or crack. Do not put these items in the dishwasher and do not let them sit in the sink.
Do not put kitchenware in the microwave or oven. Do not set hot items on your cutting boards.
Reapply wax when the item looks dry or loses its sheen. Our board wax will offer better protection for longer, but if you’re out you may use mineral oil found at any supermarket or pharmacy.
How To Apply Board Wax
Clean off all food and other debris. If you wash with soap and water be sure the board is completely dry.
Using a paper towel, apply a liberal amount of wax to the item. Cover all sides and edges.
Let the wax harden overnight.
Using a clean paper towel, wipe off the excess wax and polish the board.
